Learn about Digital Audio Workstation software & using these as a means of teaching Music.
The Victorian Music Teachers' Association (VMTA) will be hosting a 1 hour webinar on Monday 12th August 2024, presented by Nic Johnston.
We’re at the intersection of incredible digital music advancements, as well as the rapid development of AI. Never has there been a greater opportunity for our students to simply make music by pointing and clicking. But, while we appreciate the emergence of something so engaging for our students, we should consider whether these tools are being used to their full potential without a strong foundational musical knowledge.
Nic will bridge the gap between the functional computer language of our students and our own disciplinary-specific discourse. He’ll also use the software to employ a few compositional devices that, once introduced, may help our students deepen their musical knowledge and help them on the path to being more active creators.
This webinar will be recorded. Video replays and presentation materials are sent to all registrants after the event.
