Student Forum is a friendly, non-competitive performance opportunity for all students, from beginners through to higher grade candidates.
It gives:
- parents the opportunity to further encourage their child,
- students the chance to develop confidence and increase/enhance their performance skills, and
- teachers the opportunity to see how their students handle public performances.
Student Forum participation is a perk of WAMTA membership. It is only available to students of financial teaching members of WAMTA.

Venue
The WAMTA Student Forum takes place at St Mary’s Anglican Church, 9 Ridge Street, South Perth.
Day & Time
WAMTA holds Student Forums on the first Saturday of the month from March to November.
Doors open at 2.30pm. Students, families and teachers MUST NOT enter the church until the Student Forum coordinator invites you in. If you arrive early, please wait outside the church.
The concert lasts for approximately one hour.
Students and audience members must remain for the whole program, so that those at the end actually have an audience to hear their performance too.
Information for Performers
All students receive a program as a keepsake.
Attire: Student Forums are performance practice opportunities. Students are expected to dress appropriately for performance. In particular, older students are role models for younger students. As such, beach style attire such as shorts, thongs and torn jeans are not considered appropriate performance attire.
Etiquette: Performers are encouraged to announce their own name, title of piece and name of composer prior to performing, and are expected to acknowledge the audience at the end of their performance by bowing.
