In September, a superb pianist, Elyane Laussade, will be in Perth for a week. Elyane is a graduate of The Juilliard School in the USA, a laureate of many international piano competitions, including the Sydney International, and a prolific recitalist and concerto artist.
She has performed all the Mozart concertos, the Chopin concertos, two Beethoven concertos, Brahms No. 2, De Falla, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens and a few Rachmaninovs, just to name a few.
Piano Masterclasses
Elyane will lead two short masterclasses for advanced piano students.
- The first masterclass will be on Sunday 15th September at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts from 2 pm to 5 pm. This masterclass is for solo repertoire only.
- The second masterclass will be held on Monday 16th September at Australian Piano Warehouse on Fitzgerald St, North Perth, from 4 pm to 7 pm. As this location has two pianos on stage, students wishing to play a piano concerto are encouraged to attend this masterclass. Solo repertoire is also welcome.
Students are guaranteed 45 minutes on stage with Elyane, so there will only be time for four performers per masterclass—please sign up quickly, as some places have already been taken!
Student performers receive one free audience ticket for whoever accompanies them to the masterclass. We would also like to offer student performers a free ticket to one of Elyane Laussade's recitals in Perth. After you enrol for the masterclass, we will contact you about your repertoire and the concert ticket.
Registered piano teachers may attend the masterclasses for free for professional development. It is requested that you book one of the free piano teacher tickets through the website, as seating is limited.
